Thallus to 10 cm wide, foliose, membranous, rounded to irregular, adnate or ascending, sometimes deeply and broadly lobate, smooth or sparsely ridged, matt or partly glossy, olive-green; isidia if present sparse, marginal or at damaged spots, often globose becoming squamiform. Lobes few, rounded or ±extended, imbricate, sometimes lobulate; margin entire or sparsely incised. Apothecia scattered to crowded, to 2 mm wide, sessile or with constricted base; disc flat, matt or slightly glossy, epruinose, pale or dark red; thalline exciple thin, entire, smooth or finely rugulose, usually not prominent. Asci 65–80 × 13–20 µm. Ascospores 30–56 × 4.0–8.5 µm, fusiform to broadly acicular, straight or somewhat curved, rarely crooked at one end, sometimes end-cells tail-like, 6-celled, rarely 4- or 7–8-celled, usually not constricted. Pycnidia common, to 200 µm wide; pycnidial gel hyaline to pale yellow. Conidia c. 4 × 1 µm, straight, usually slightly swollen towards ends. | ||
Occurs in Asia, the Pacific Islands, New Zealand and northern Australia (Qld). Grows on bark. | ||
